More than 300 people missing after South Korean ferry sinks


South Korea: A South Korean Ferry is seen sinking today in the sea of Jindo in which almost 300 people were missing according to the report from coastguards.

The ferry was carrying 459 people, 164 were rescued from them, two people were confirmed death and remaining were not found yet, according to coastguard officials. 164 people were rescued with the help of Navy Vessels, fishing boats and 18 helicopters.

On Tuesday, the ferry left from the port of Incheon, about 30 km west from Seoul.

According to the shipping record, it was built in Japan in 1994. The ship has its on capacity to load about 900 people with its overall width of 6,586 gross tonnes and length 146 meters.
